We have had fun (and frustrations) solving problems and trying out investigations in Maths this week.
The children have worked collaboratively and methodically to solve them all. There is one, however, that remains unsolved! It was the source of much angst, chewed pencils and screwed up pieces of paper today! Here is.....Albert Square!
A lot of the children managed to find rows of houses that added up to 15, with a different number of people in each house, but their total number of residents didn't match 36!
How could this be approached in a different way? Who will solve the Albert Square problem......?

Please can you write out your favourite poem along with a paragraph explaining
why you like it. Remember to mention any of the poetic techniques that have
been used: simile, metaphor, personification, rhyme, repetition, powerful
language, etc. Can you memorise the poem and perform it for the class?

What can you find out about
the geography of London? Can you find out its size, population, climate, lowest
point, highest point, terrain, major bodies of water and important landmarks?

How do you feel when
you go through a change? Can you write about a time when you experienced
change. It could be a new home, new school new class, or even a change in the

starting a new topic on Poetry. To develop your descriptive language in
preparation, please write a detailed paragraph to describe the setting of a
forest. It can be any type of forest you like (scary, bright, exciting, haunted
etc). We will be using these descriptions to compare them to another poem.

visiting the remains of a Roman Amphitheatre in London. What facts do you know
about amphitheatres and why they were so important to Roman life? Share them on the blog this week.
